Monday night ramblings

Today's is RJ's 37th birthday. The kids and I made a chocolate mousse pie for him yesterday - complete with 37 candles on top. Too bad he had to celebrate both Fathers Day and his birthday together. He is an hour away for work and won't be home until Saturday. I miss him already and he just left this morning. I should have just drove straight there after work to surprise him. But I don't know what his schedule is like or how late he is working.

My sister J and her children are coming in town next Sunday. They are going to stay for a week and watch my children while our sitter is on vacation. Cannot wait for her to get here. It has only been a week since I saw her last, but I miss not having her right up the street any more.

I am really worried about my step sister. She is due with twin girls on September 7th. She went into labor this weekend. She had to be airlifted to another facility. They are doing everything they can to keep the babies in, but she is dilated to 5. The doctors predict that in one week both babies will be 3 lbs each and delivery would be fairly safe at that point. They have two little boys at home who are being cared for by grandparents.

One year ago tomorrow we were on an airplane flying to Hawaii. I cannot believe it was a year ago. Time flies. I can still remember the smell. So many times over the last year I had wanted to be back there.
