It is too cold to go outside
I picked M up from school Wednesday and she was acting fine. We got home and she said she was cold and left here coat on. She grabbed her blanket and pillow and laid down on the love seat and fell fast asleep. She woke up at 7:30 and was running a fever and said her stomach hurt. She never did get sick just a fever and very very groggy. She slept until 2:30 Thursday afternoon. Thankfully R was scheduled off on Thursday and was able to keep both kids home. I took Friday off and stayed home with them. M's fever did not break until last night. Boy is she better today. Thank goodness. We were really starting to get worried. One of her friends brought her homework home. Wow - tons. Now just convincing her to do the parts that she really doesn't want to do. It was great having another day off though. It is way too cold and windy to go out and do anything and just feels good to be in the house. R is liking his new store. He has seen lots of people that he knows (friends and family). I think this is a refreshing change for him. I know I am ever so thankful. Money was starting to get a little tight and it is really time to pick up the pieces of the last few months. First way to do that is get our taxes done. We are just waiting for one form and we can file. Hopefully this week. First thing on the list to buy is propane for our tank. We have really been watching what the furnace is set at and how much we are cooking on the stove and baking in the oven, but it will be nice to not have to worry so much about it. That will certainly take up a huge chunk of our return. Next on the list is car repairs. We were hoping to be able to buy a new car this year, but hopefully we can baby our old cars for another year. We definately want and need to buy a new computer and get rid of dial-up. I came across this quote earlier in the week (from a newletter we receive) and I am keeping it some place that I will see it often. It really sums up the way I am trying to live my life.
"Lord Jesus Christ, I surrender everything to you - my health, my thoughts, my plans, my desires, my whole life. Thank you for your welcoming arms and loving smile. Thank you, Jesus, for your desire and your power to make me whole".

I think the end of your post is so perfect.. and a great big amen.
Those financial "to-do's" can just overwhelm.. can't they?
I'm glad you posted the link to your blog again, you normally don't do that - so I was able to put you on my blogroll and check your blog now!
I can't get warm here either.. I still have the coat I only whip out when I'm the coldest of colds (a Raider's Starter jacket I've had for 21 years).
Yay for R being happy.. lots of blessings to you.
