Five Ingredient Friday

I have been sick all week. I finally got to a walk-in clinic yesterday because for two days in a row my doctors office was "double booked" all day. I have an ear infection, sinus infection and bronchitis. To me the best thing when I am sick is Chicken Noodle Soup.

3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
10 carrots, peeled and sliced
4 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1 onion, diced
8 cubes chicken bouillon
1 (12 ounce) package uncooked egg noodles

Boil the chicken until no longer pink. Cool and dice or shred. Fill a big pan or crockpot with water and add ingredients except for the noodles. If using a crockpot, this can cook for 6-8 hours. On the stove 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Add the noodles a 1/2 hour before serving.

There's nothing better than homemade chicken noodle soup when you're sick. When I was a child, I loved eating a bowl of chicken noodle soup with a peanut butter sandwich. Odd combination, I know, but I liked it. :)

I sure hope you're feeling better soon, you poor girl!

Thanks for participating in my Five Ingredient Friday recipe exchange, especially considering how bad you've been feeling this week. I do appreciate it!
