Five Ingredient Friday

I am following the lead of http://overwhelmedwithjoy.blogspot.com/

I love trying new, easy recipes. Key word there - EASY. If you would like to play along, feel free. Just let me know so I can try your recipe.

Pizza Bake
2 tubes crescent rolls
1 lb hamburger
1 cup shredded cheese
1 jar pizza sauce

Unroll one tube of crescent rolls and put in bottom on baking pan. Brown hamburger and drain. Put hamburger on top of crescent rolls, top with cheese and pizza sauce. Add the other tube of crescent rolls to the top of other ingredients. Bake at 350 until the top is golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

Oh, good idea! My kids love unrolling those crescent roll things! I'll have to try those this week - thanks for posting that!

As you know, I've got this on my menu for this week. We're going to try it with sausage & pepperoni. I'll let you know how it turns out. :)

Okay, I made these for dinner tonight and, unfortunately, they didn't quite turn out as good as I had hoped. I believe that it's my fault.

I didn't follow the directions accurately. I rolled out the first package of crescent rolls on the bottom. Then I smeared on pizza sauce, then cheese, then the meat, then more cheese. Then I put the second package of crescent rolls on the top.

I baked it for 15 minutes. It "looked" done, but when I cut it up and served my husband, we quickly discovered that the bottom layer of crescent rolls was still somewhat gooey. I threw it back in the oven for at least 10 more minutes, same thing. The edges weren't as bad as the middle.

I have a convection oven and usually things cook evenly in it. Do you think that by putting the sauce on first, I ruined it?

I'd like to try it again because I know it has the potential to be great!

Your advice would be welcome. :)

I think the sauce going on first is what did it. I put the meat on first, then the sauce and other toppings. I have not had this happen before.

I suspected that. I'll try it again and do it the RIGHT way! :)
